IGI Release (based on EMI/UMD) 06 - 26/02/2013

Dear site-admins,

There is available an update in IGI Release, based on middleware services developed by IGI & EMI:

• updated version of the HLR Server (Service) v. 4.0.15 on SL5/x86_64 and SL6/86_64

Release Notes:
=============
This release applies to HLR servers.

• Bug Fixes:
  • Fixes server hangs and crashes when installed on top of recent versions of the globus libraries.
  • Fixes a hang of the dgas-ping client that occasionally does not respect the imposed connection timeout.
  • new version of yaim-dgas fixing function/config_dgas_hlr:
    • changed the cron generation, put the dgas-hlr-populateJobTransSummary instead of dgas-hlr-translatedb

• Notes:
  • new versions of glite-dgas-common & glite-dgas-hlr-clients will be updated also on the CEs, but the update is transparent, no configuration or services restart is needed.
  • on First Level HLR, if using a high number of threads it is necessary to diminish the preallocated memory consumption inserting in the configuration file, /etc/dgas/dgas_hlr.conf, the following value:
    

    messageReservedMemory = "2048"

• Known Issues:
  • The listener process may still occasionally crash if under heavy load of connections that fails authentication. The process is however immediately restarted, so no admin intervention is needed. This will be fixed in future release of the code.

WE STRONGLY RECOMMEND NOT TO USE AUTOMATIC UPDATE PROCEDURE OF ANY KIND on the IGI/EMI middleware repositories and EPEL (you can keep it turned on for the OS).
You should read the update information provided by each service and do the upgrade manually when an update has been released.
